I am a current student at South Piedmont Community College and plan to transfer to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro sometime in the future. I am currently working on earning an Associates in Arts degree and an Associates in Fine Arts degree. 

 

  After I graduate from South Piedmont Community College, I hope to earn a Bachelors in Communication with a minor in education and a Masters degree in Library Science. I plan to work in a library at a major college or university. My interest in working in a library came from when I worked in the library at my high school one semester. I enjoyed helping the students and faculty with various tasks such as checking out books and laminating papers that were going to be used in classes. My interest in pursuing a career in library science also came from my love of books as a child. When I was in elementary school, I spent countless hours a week at the public library talking to the librarians and reading, and I have always had decent writing, communication, and technological skills, which I feel are some of the skills that a librarian would need. From my interest in reading came my interest in art as well, my love of reading as a child fueling my artistic creativity throughout my life. My artwork has been displayed at SPCC's All-College Art Show and has also been published in SPCC's Revere Journal. Through all of these experiences, I developed an interest in library science as well as art and wanted to inspire others to love reading and creating as well.
