Additional Educational Experiences

SPCC Art Club

In South Piedmont’s art club, I was the club secretary for two years, both of the years I participated in the club. As secretary I took minutes for the club record, as well as participated in some of the club service activities, such as creating decorations for community events like Zumbathon and the creation of free coloring books.

Monroe High School Library

During my final semester of high school, I became an assistant in my school’s library for class credits, giving me valuable experience in my field of interest. Through being an assistant, I learned how to check books out and back into the library, how to re-shelve and organize the books, as well as how to laminate papers and assist teachers, such as telling them when they could bring their class into the library to work and laminating and making copies for them as well.

NSLS Membership

During the second semester of my second year at SPCC, I was invited to join the National Society of Leadership & Success. The induction process was a valuable experience for me, seeing as it helped me build my leadership, organization, as well as time management skills. Through having to conduct meetings with an assigned group called a success networking team during induction as well as having to attend a leadership training day and view a speaker broadcast on campus, I not only learned how to manage my time and organize within a group so that we were able to meet on a regular basis, but how to let my voice be heard within the group so that I could contribute to our discussions as much as the rest of the members within my group. But my group was not the only part that built my leadership and time management, the leadership training day helping me to build that skill in being able to identify my goals and create a plan to help me successfully achieve these goals.
